How do I get rid of spots?
Getting spots is part of growing up, but it’s not just teenagers who are affected. Spots can stick with us for pretty much all of our lives, if we’re really unfortunate, but everyone is affected by the occasional spot at some stage.
At times annoying, occasionally painful, always embarrassing, what can we do to mitigate against these little blighters?
Well, quite a few things actually.
Improve your diet
It might not sound like rocket science, because it isn’t, but improving your diet can drastically reduce the likelihood of developing spots. Swap out the chocolate and the sweets for healthy alternatives like salads and fruit. Or, don’t, and simply deal with the consequences.
Reduce toxins
Alcohol can be a lot of fun, but the effect it has on our skin is undeniable. If you give up the drink for a few weeks, you’ll be amazed at just how many comments you get about the clearness of your skin. Who knows, maybe it will be enough to stop you drinking for life, or not.
Manage your skin care routine
You don’t have to rush out to the chemist and spend your month’s wages on shiny products, but you could start by washing your face once in a while. A good skin care routine will stop dirt building up in your pores. Come on, you can do this.
Remove make up before bed
If you’re regularly falling asleep with a face full of make up, it should come as no surprise that your face is full of spots. You really need to take the time to get the stuff of your face before you fall asleep, but hey, this probably goes hand in hand with the alcohol situation, right?
Get outside
Stop spending your life indoors like some sort of cave creature. Just like every other animal, we need fresh air and sunlight to help keep us looking our best. The Vitamin D from the sun is something that will improve your skin dramatically. Come out of that cave!
Drink water
No one is drinking enough water these days, they’re just not. Get the water bottle, take it with you, refill it and drink from it, you moron! If you’re wondering whether you’ve had enough to drink today, you haven’t. It’ll help with the spots too.
Accept it
Everyone gets spots, it’s nothing to be ashamed about. If the steps above aren’t exactly exciting you, you always have the option to just accept it and get on with your life. Besides, you might really like squeezing the spots that you do get. I mean, who doesn’t?!
